Our Work in Africa
Africa, which contains the majority of the world’s remaining natural resour-ces, is emerging at the “next frontier.” Yet, its po-tential is inhibited by poor economic policy, corrup-tion, political instability, lack of sound governance, the spread of infectious diseases, and food insecurity.
But there is hope. Many African countries are im-proving business environ-ments and democratic governance. We work with local governments and partners to help them overcome these challenges through transparency and accountability, improved agricultural technologies, better health care, better understanding of local and international markets, the strengthening of regulatory frameworks, and sustain-able use of natural resources.
